Cette deuxième édition contient en fait 105 illustrations, dont chacune est commentée par une note que j’ai rédigée à l’attention des collectionneurs du Paris d’AKAGI. Certains m’ont dit que ce recueil pouvait constituer un très bon guide sur Paris, mais mon idée n’est pas du tout de faire un guide ! Je conçois ce recueil davantage comme les mémoires d’un Japonais à Paris en 2014, retracées sous forme de 100 vues de la capitale. La traduction peut être en anglais ou en français, mais je souhaite que l’original en japonais figure en dessous.&lt;/p&gt;</text>

                <text>This book contains my special selection of 100 views of Paris in lithography. The selection was made by myself from my completed works and may therefore be regarded as my specially edited private collection. I have almost 500 original drawings of Paris after my 40 years of work. The 100 prints I selected for this book were taken from over 100 prints of those 500 drawings. I did not print them especially for this book like Hiroshige’s “100 famous views of Edo” or Hokusai’s “100 famous views of Mount Fuji” so the title of this book may not be appropriate perhaps. This book is rather like a series of notes stating why I printed these particular views. I hope this book will be appreciated by those who collect my work.</text>

              <text>Le mot cordonnier existe depuis le 14e siècle, où le terme désigne non seulement celui qui répare les chaussures, mais aussi celui qui les fabrique sur mesure. Avant la Révolution, Paris comptait plus de 1800 maîtres cordonniers. Ils s’étaient regroupés pour former un puissant syndicat. Il existe en français l’expression «C’est le cordonnier le plus mal chaussé», qui rappelle le proverbe japonais «Le teinturier porte un pantalon blanc». Depuis le 16e siècle, le terme «cordonnerie» est utilisé sur les enseignes des réparateurs de chaussures. C’est plus chic que «cordonnier», même si, à l’oreille, et dans la vie de tous les jours, les Parisiens disent encore cordonnier. Ils vont dans ce type de magasin aussi bien pour faire faire des plaques d’immatriculation que des cartes de visite, des cachets, des tampons, des clés ou pour entretenir et réparer des objets de maroquinerie.</text>

              <text>The word cordonnier has been in use since the 14th century, when it used to mean bespoke shoemakers and shoe repairers. There were many in the city and they established an influential guild. There is a Japanese saying that “the dyer wears white” but the French say “cordonniers wear the worst shoes.” It seems they have been calling shoe repairers cordonneries as a witticism since about the 16th century as all the shops’ signboards show. In general conversation, cordonniers means shoe repairers and the business these craftsmen offer is thriving. They worked on a wide range of tasks such as repairing leather goods, locks and keys, rubber stamps, business cards and fitting car number plates. It is said there were more than 1800 master shoemakers in Paris before the French Revolution.</text>

              <text>コルドニエーとい言葉が十四世紀からあって、靴屋（昔はオーダー）と靴修理業のことだった。市内に沢山あって、勢力のある職業組合の団体を構成していた。日本語に「紺屋の白袴」という諺があるが、フランス語だと「コルドニエーが一番ひどい靴を履いている」と表現すると通じる。十六世紀の頃から靴修理店のことはコルドヌリーと洒落て呼ぶようで、店の看板がみなそうなっている。実際の会話ではコルドニエー（靴修理屋）で、鞄や皮物修理から、錠前、ゴム印、名刺、自動車のナンバープレートの取り付けまで、手広い便利屋でけっこう繁昌。フランス革命前、パリに靴屋の親方は、一八〇〇人を越していたと言う。</text>
