Cette deuxième édition contient en fait 105 illustrations, dont chacune est commentée par une note que j’ai rédigée à l’attention des collectionneurs du Paris d’AKAGI. Certains m’ont dit que ce recueil pouvait constituer un très bon guide sur Paris, mais mon idée n’est pas du tout de faire un guide ! Je conçois ce recueil davantage comme les mémoires d’un Japonais à Paris en 2014, retracées sous forme de 100 vues de la capitale. La traduction peut être en anglais ou en français, mais je souhaite que l’original en japonais figure en dessous.</p> This book contains my special selection of 100 views of Paris in lithography. The selection was made by myself from my completed works and may therefore be regarded as my specially edited private collection. I have almost 500 original drawings of Paris after my 40 years of work. The 100 prints I selected for this book were taken from over 100 prints of those 500 drawings. I did not print them especially for this book like Hiroshige’s “100 famous views of Edo” or Hokusai’s “100 famous views of Mount Fuji” so the title of this book may not be appropriate perhaps. This book is rather like a series of notes stating why I printed these particular views. Title A name given to the resource Le musée Carnavalet / Carnavalet Museum / カルナバレ美術館 Description An account of the resource Quand je suis arrivé à Paris, ce musée était consacré à l’histoire de la ville de Paris. Mais, avec le temps et la profusion de documents à conserver, le musée a été divisé en plusieurs parties, chacune avec sa spécialité. Aujourd’hui, il est consacré aux expositions d’artistes sur le thème de la ville de Paris. Cet hôtel bourgeois est construit en 1545, puis inauguré en tant que musée en 1867. Spécialisé sur Paris, il s’est agrandi en occupant ou en fusionnant avec des bâtiments voisins. Il occupe le plus grand terrain de ce quartier. Ce que l’on voit sur le dessin est l’ancienne entrée, avant que le bâtiment ne soit transformé en musée. A partir de 1677 et durant 20 ans, ce lieu est loué par Madame de Sévigné pour y faire Salon. Ses lettres à sa fille, partie vivre à la campagne après son mariage, sont représentatives de la littérature française du 17e siècle. Ces correspondances sont un modèle d’expression française. When I first came to Paris this was a normal museum of the history of Paris butvarious materials were added and placed in specialised sections. Gradually it became a museum specialising in art and crafts of Paris. It was a noblemen’s residence built in 1545, opened in 1867 to be a museum specialising in the history of Paris and was expanded with new buildings in the premises, with surrounding residences being merged, occupying the corner to a large extent. The place in the picture is the entrance of the old residence and, on its second floor, there is the room of the Marquise de Sévigné who rented the residence for 20 years from 1677 and devoted in writing “Recueil des lettres” to her daughter who got married to live in a local place.
