Cette deuxième édition contient en fait 105 illustrations, dont chacune est commentée par une note que j’ai rédigée à l’attention des collectionneurs du Paris d’AKAGI. Certains m’ont dit que ce recueil pouvait constituer un très bon guide sur Paris, mais mon idée n’est pas du tout de faire un guide ! Je conçois ce recueil davantage comme les mémoires d’un Japonais à Paris en 2014, retracées sous forme de 100 vues de la capitale. La traduction peut être en anglais ou en français, mais je souhaite que l’original en japonais figure en dessous.</p> This book contains my special selection of 100 views of Paris in lithography. The selection was made by myself from my completed works and may therefore be regarded as my specially edited private collection. I have almost 500 original drawings of Paris after my 40 years of work. The 100 prints I selected for this book were taken from over 100 prints of those 500 drawings. I did not print them especially for this book like Hiroshige’s “100 famous views of Edo” or Hokusai’s “100 famous views of Mount Fuji” so the title of this book may not be appropriate perhaps. This book is rather like a series of notes stating why I printed these particular views. Title A name given to the resource Rue Montmartre / The Rue Montmartre / モンマルトル通り Description An account of the resource C’est une des artères partant de l’ancien centre de Paris. Elle permet de monter vers Montmartre. C’est une ancienne voie de circulation. Elle portait déjà ce nom en 1200, à l’époque où, au Japon, Minamoto Yoritomo mettait en place le shogunat de Kamakura. On dit que le bâtiment derrière la Bourse, avec sa façade sculptée au numéro 136, était un hôtel meublé dans les années 1800. On raconte aussi qu’à une autre époque, cet endroit servait de lieu de départ pour les calèches à chevaux. Aujourd’hui, il est connu comme le lieu de naissance de la presse quotidienne. On y trouvait, pendant longtemps, le siège du Figaro, l’Agence Reuter, le magazine Elle, le quotidien France Soir et le centre de distribution de la presse. Seul reste aujourd’hui l’immeuble de l’Agence France Presse.Au 20e siècle, l’industrie manufacturière se concentre dans ce quartier : grossistes de tissus et de boutons, fabricants d’accessoires, boutiques de fleurs artificielles… Ils occupaient parfois même les étages avec d’autres ateliers de manufacture. La plupart de ces immeubles n’étaient pas équipés d’ascenseur. Pour trouver la bonne personne, il fallait emprunter un escalier en colimaçon et frapper à la porte : des portes sans décoration, toutes semblables, en chêne massif, avec seulement une plaque et le nom de la société. Mais, une fois qu’on franchissait l’entrée, on se retrouvait dans un autre monde : celui de la mode ! This is the route running from the old centre of Paris in the direction of Montmartre. This is an old street, it already had been given the current name when Yoritomo Minamoto opened the Kamakura Shogunate in 1200.I have read that the building with the curved facade behind Paris Bourse at number 136 was also a furnished hotel around 1800. It is said that there was a local carriage terminal here in the past and that the French newspaper industry was born around here, so the headquarters of Le Figaro, Reuters, Agence France-Presse, large newspaper distribution centres, Elle magazine, France Soir: all used to be found around here.In the 20th century, craft and retail industries including fabric wholesalers, button wholesalers, accessory makers, artificial flower makers and accessory workshops occupied the buildings around here and various ateliers congregated on each floor. They rarely had elevators and we go up winding stairs to each floor on foot and knock on the doors.
