Cette deuxième édition contient en fait 105 illustrations, dont chacune est commentée par une note que j’ai rédigée à l’attention des collectionneurs du Paris d’AKAGI. Certains m’ont dit que ce recueil pouvait constituer un très bon guide sur Paris, mais mon idée n’est pas du tout de faire un guide ! Je conçois ce recueil davantage comme les mémoires d’un Japonais à Paris en 2014, retracées sous forme de 100 vues de la capitale. La traduction peut être en anglais ou en français, mais je souhaite que l’original en japonais figure en dessous.</p> This book contains my special selection of 100 views of Paris in lithography. The selection was made by myself from my completed works and may therefore be regarded as my specially edited private collection. I have almost 500 original drawings of Paris after my 40 years of work. The 100 prints I selected for this book were taken from over 100 prints of those 500 drawings. I did not print them especially for this book like Hiroshige’s “100 famous views of Edo” or Hokusai’s “100 famous views of Mount Fuji” so the title of this book may not be appropriate perhaps. This book is rather like a series of notes stating why I printed these particular views. Title A name given to the resource Place Franz-Liszt / The Place Franz-Liszt / フランツ・リスト広場 Description An account of the resource En partant de l’Opéra, et juste avant d’arriver à la gare du Nord et à la gare de l’Est, se trouve l’église Saint-Vincent de Paul. Au 17e siècle, à Paris, Saint-Vincent de Paul consacra toute sa vie à aider lépreux, orphelins et nécessiteux. Après sa mort, il fut sanctifié. Ce prêtre peut être considéré comme l’un des précurseurs des œuvres sociales. Au 19e siècle, cette grande église a été construite avec le soutien des fidèles pour témoigner de sa vénération envers lui. A Paris, on voit souvent de nombreux établissements de soin portant le nom de Saint-Vincent de Paul, il ne s’agit pas du nom de deux personnes, mais bien d’un seul saint. Lors de la transformation de Paris lancée par Napoléon III, la percée de la rue Lafayette donne naissance à cette place qui sera baptisée place La Fayette. C’est aussi le quartier où vivaient le pianiste et compositeur hongrois Franz-Liszt. C’est en 1962 que le nom de la place a été changé pour lui rendre hommage. Au nord, on un escalier-terrasse qui mène à l’église. Le bâtiment qui donne du côté sud de la place fait partie du vieux Paris qui débute rue d’Hauteville et où sont rassemblés les grossistes en fourrures. Un peu plus bas, on croise la rue Paradis réputée pour ses grossistes en vaisselle et céramique. Si vous aimez la littérature, vous pourrez découvrir l’escalier en pierre figurant dans Les Thibault de Roger Martin du Gard. Il y décrit une scène cruciale dans l’histoire d’amour entre Jacques et Jenny. C’est un lieu pour lequel j’éprouve énormément d’émotions. On the way from Place de l’Opéra to Gare de l’Est and Gare du Nord, the Church of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul stands. He lived in Paris in the 17th century and helped lepers, orphans and poor people and came to be worshipped as a saint after his death. He was a priest who had instituted social relief programmes and was venerated so much in the 19th century that a large church was built in his name. In Paris we often find facilities and hospitals named after him. The name is that of one priest, not two persons.Rue La Fayette was opened during Napoléon III’s renovation of Paris. It used to be called the Place La Fayette but because Franz-Liszt, the Hungarian pianist and composer, used to live around here, its name was changed. Though there is a terrace on the church stairs on the north side, buildings on the south side facing the Place are those of old Paris. The Rue d’Hauteville, with its fur wholesalers, starts here and the Rue de Paradis, where pottery wholesalers are to be found, runs across it.If you are fond of literature, in «The Thibault» by Roger Martin du Gard, the stone staircase is the important scene for the lovers, Jacques and Jenny.
