Cette deuxième édition contient en fait 105 illustrations, dont chacune est commentée par une note que j’ai rédigée à l’attention des collectionneurs du Paris d’AKAGI. Certains m’ont dit que ce recueil pouvait constituer un très bon guide sur Paris, mais mon idée n’est pas du tout de faire un guide ! Je conçois ce recueil davantage comme les mémoires d’un Japonais à Paris en 2014, retracées sous forme de 100 vues de la capitale. La traduction peut être en anglais ou en français, mais je souhaite que l’original en japonais figure en dessous.&lt;/p&gt;</text>

                <text>This book contains my special selection of 100 views of Paris in lithography. The selection was made by myself from my completed works and may therefore be regarded as my specially edited private collection. I have almost 500 original drawings of Paris after my 40 years of work. The 100 prints I selected for this book were taken from over 100 prints of those 500 drawings. I did not print them especially for this book like Hiroshige’s “100 famous views of Edo” or Hokusai’s “100 famous views of Mount Fuji” so the title of this book may not be appropriate perhaps. This book is rather like a series of notes stating why I printed these particular views. I hope this book will be appreciated by those who collect my work.</text>

              <text>À l’ouest de la butte Montmartre, en partant du quartier animé de Clichy et en remontant l’avenue de Clichy, on trouve, sur la droite, le passage Lathuille. Sur cette même avenue, existait le restaurant peint par Manet : «Chez le Père Lathuille», tableau conservé au Musée des beaux-arts de Tournai, en Belgique. Tout à côté, il y avait le fameux café Guerbois, où se réunissaient, tous les vendredis, les artistes qui donnèrent naissance au mouvement impressionniste. Aujourd’hui, ce café est devenu un magasin de chaussures discount. Le patron du restaurant, Monsieur Lathuille, propriétaire du terrain, vivait au numéro 6 de la rue qui deviendra le «Passage Lathuille». Une fois à l’intérieur, on se retrouve dans une cour entourée d’immeubles d’habitations. Ce lieu calme, où l’on se sent quelque peu détaché du monde, permet de se poser un instant au milieu d’une verdure soigneusement entretenue par le gardien. Les appartements parisiens ont des façades en pierre qui donnent sur la rue, mais il suffit de franchir le portail, traverser un couloir sombre et on se retrouve dans une cour-jardin à ciel ouvert. Ce style d’architecture permet aux appartements d’être lumineux et bien aérés, loin de ces cubes de béton et de verre de l’architecture moderne standard.</text>

              <text>Lathuille alley is found just off the tree-lined Clichy Street under Montmartre hill on the west. A famous painting, “Chez le Pére Lathuille” by Manet, hangs in the Tournai Museum in Belgium. The café in this painting was along Clichy Street. Next to this restaurant there was a café called Guerbois where artists gathered every Friday. This was where the Impressionist movement started. Today, the café given way to a discounted shoe shop. The restaurant’s owner, Mr Lathuille, was a landlord so his address and area around it was named after him. He used to live in number 6. As you enter the building, you see the rooms allocated in a way so that they surrounded the courtyard. A gatekeeper is looking after the trees and plants well. We feel peace looking at this quiet and different world. All Parisian houses were built in rows, with stone walls facing the main street, in such a way that the courtyard was the centre and each building surrounded a courtyard enabling it to have fresh air and natural light. Houses were not made of concrete and were not square boxes with windows, as they are now.</text>

              <text>同じモンマルトルの丘下の西側、クリッシーの盛り場から入る、クリッシー並木大通りから入った小道がラチュイユ小路。マネの描いた「料亭ラチュイユの午後」という代表作の名画が、ベルギーのツゥルネー美術館にあって、そのレストランは側のクリシー並木大通りにあった。その隣がカッフェ・ゲルボアで、毎週金曜日に集まっていた芸術家たちの集いが、印象派の発祥となったのだった。現在カッフェは、安売り靴屋となっている。　料亭オーナーのラチュイユ親父は地主で、すぐ近くの住まいだった地所に名前が残り、その六番地に住んでいたという。建物に入ると、内庭を居住人が取り囲んで住んでいて、門番が植木を手入れし、静かな別天地に、ホッとする。パリの家は、みんな表の道路に面して石の壁を見せて、並んで建っているが、扉のある入り口の内側にトンネル廊下を抜けて入ると、各建物が内庭を中心にある建て方で、自然の空気と光を取り込んでいて、現代のような人工的、コンクリートやガラスの中まで詰まった、四角い箱では無かったのである。</text>
