Cette deuxième édition contient en fait 105 illustrations, dont chacune est commentée par une note que j’ai rédigée à l’attention des collectionneurs du Paris d’AKAGI. Certains m’ont dit que ce recueil pouvait constituer un très bon guide sur Paris, mais mon idée n’est pas du tout de faire un guide ! Je conçois ce recueil davantage comme les mémoires d’un Japonais à Paris en 2014, retracées sous forme de 100 vues de la capitale. La traduction peut être en anglais ou en français, mais je souhaite que l’original en japonais figure en dessous.</p> This book contains my special selection of 100 views of Paris in lithography. The selection was made by myself from my completed works and may therefore be regarded as my specially edited private collection. I have almost 500 original drawings of Paris after my 40 years of work. The 100 prints I selected for this book were taken from over 100 prints of those 500 drawings. I did not print them especially for this book like Hiroshige’s “100 famous views of Edo” or Hokusai’s “100 famous views of Mount Fuji” so the title of this book may not be appropriate perhaps. This book is rather like a series of notes stating why I printed these particular views. Title A name given to the resource Le Pavillon de Flore et le Quai des Tuileries / The Pavillon de Flore and the Quai des Tuileries / フロール館（ルーブル美術館） Description An account of the resource Il y a longtemps, à l’extrémité ouest du Louvre, le Palais des Tulleries était relié à ses deux ailes. Le château du Louvre était ainsi un lieu complètement fermé. Le palais est détruit en 1871, lors du soulèvement de la Commune. C’est pour cette raison que le Louvre est aujourd’hui ouvert dans la continuité du jardin. A l’ouest, le pavillon de Flore fait partie des vestiges de ce palais disparu. La rue qui passe devant ce bâtiment se prolonge en tunnel qui passe sous le jardin des Tuileries et sert d’entrée au parking du Louvre. Lors de l’arrivée du Tour de France, les cyclistes tournent ici pour descendre dans ce souterrain. Puis ils remontent et tournent encore pour faire 15 fois la boucle entre l’Arc de Triomphe et le Louvre.Autrefois, sur ce quai de la Seine, des bateaux transportant du bois venaient décharger leur marchandise. Ce pont, appelé Pont Royal est achevé le 13 juin 1689. Au 17e siècle, c’est le dernier pont sur la Seine avant la ville du Havre. À son embouchure, le fleuve se déverse dans l’océan Atlantique, à 230 km à vol d’oiseau de Paris. La construction de ce pont a permis aux terrains vagues et marécageux des bords de Seine d’accueillir de nombreux hôtels particuliers pour la noblesse. Ils deviendront par la suite le faubourg Saint-Germain et le 7e arrondissement. Tuileries Palace used to stand at the west side of the Louvre Museum. Part of the building was burnt down during the civil war in 19th century so most of it was demolished. For this reason, the Museum’s west side is u-shaped, leading to a garden. Flor Palace is at the west side of the museum, a remnant of the Tuileries Palace. The road in front goes under the park through a tunnel, leading to the underground car park for the Carousel du Louvre. It also serves as a finish line for the Tour de France every July. To finish the race, cyclists go into the tunnel then come up to l’Arc de Triomphe. They complete this circuit 15 times before reaching their goal.In old times, this area was used as a timber yard making use of water transport on the Seine. The Royal Bridge was completed on June 13th 1689. This bridge was the furthest downstream on the Seine in the 17th century. The river continues meandering as far as Le Havre, where it enters the Atlantic Ocean 230 km away as the crow flies.
