Cette deuxième édition contient en fait 105 illustrations, dont chacune est commentée par une note que j’ai rédigée à l’attention des collectionneurs du Paris d’AKAGI. Certains m’ont dit que ce recueil pouvait constituer un très bon guide sur Paris, mais mon idée n’est pas du tout de faire un guide ! Je conçois ce recueil davantage comme les mémoires d’un Japonais à Paris en 2014, retracées sous forme de 100 vues de la capitale. La traduction peut être en anglais ou en français, mais je souhaite que l’original en japonais figure en dessous.&lt;/p&gt;</text>

                <text>This book contains my special selection of 100 views of Paris in lithography. The selection was made by myself from my completed works and may therefore be regarded as my specially edited private collection. I have almost 500 original drawings of Paris after my 40 years of work. The 100 prints I selected for this book were taken from over 100 prints of those 500 drawings. I did not print them especially for this book like Hiroshige’s “100 famous views of Edo” or Hokusai’s “100 famous views of Mount Fuji” so the title of this book may not be appropriate perhaps. This book is rather like a series of notes stating why I printed these particular views. I hope this book will be appreciated by those who collect my work.</text>

              <text>Quand je prononce “Grand Hôtel” à la manière anglaise, j’imagine un hôtel de Yokohama ou d’Osaka, alors que si je respecte la prononciation française avec le h muet et en faisant la liaison cela devient “grantotel”. Lorsque vous prenez un taxi, pensez à articuler correctement, car vous aurez du mal à arriver à bon port. En effet, le français n’est pas une langue facile !Ouvert en 1862 sous Napoléon III et inauguré en présence de l’Impératrice, cet hôtel est encore aujourd’hui en activité. De 1988 à 1998, le groupe japonais Season en devient propriétaire, après la bulle spéculative de 1986 dans l’archipel. L’année 2008 marque le 150e anniversaire des relations diplomatiques franco-japonaises. En 1868, alors que se tient la 2e Exposition universelle, c’est dans cet hôtel que séjournent TOKUGAWA Akitake et SHIBUSAWA Eiichi de la 4e délégation de shogunat, dynastie de shoguns. À l’intérieur, on découvre un grand salon rond datant de cette époque. Des défilés de mode y sont parfois organisés. Les dorures du style impérial s’harmonisent fort bien avec le luxe vestimentaire d’une certaine clientèle de cet établissement.</text>

              <text>When we pronounce this in English, it reminds me of some hotels in Yokohama or Osaka. When pronounced in French, ‘H’ is aspirated and the next letter, which is almost always a vowel, is connected with the sound of the previous word. Unless we pronounce it correctly, a taxi driver will not understand where we want to go. This is the one of the reasons why French is a difficult language to learn. This hotel opened in 1862, in the era of Napoleon III, and the Empress attended the opening ceremony. It is still operated as a hotel today. Between 1988 and 1998, when Japan was in the middle of a bubble economy, it was owned by Japanese Seibu Seison Group.It is said that 2008 is 150th anniversary of Japanese-French friendship. Akitake Tokugawa, who led the 4th General delegation group to Paris, and one of its members, Eiichi Sibusawa, both stayed in this hotel. It is a hotel with a rich history. The large, circular shaped salon has kept its style and it is often used for fashion shows etc. This is because it is decorated in the Empire style which is luxurious and the venue and expensive clothing complement each other.</text>

              <text>グランド・ホテルと英語読みにすると、何だか横浜や大阪のホテルのようだし、フランス語読みに発音すると、Ｈは無音で、母音がつながって、こんな具合に発音しないと、パリではタクシーでこのホテルに、帰り着けない。フランス語は難しいと言われるわけである。一八六二年五月オープン、ナポレオン三世皇帝の時代で、皇后もオープニングに出席、現在までも現役ホテルで続いている。日本がバブルの頃の一九八八年から九八年までは、日本の西武セゾングループの持ち物だったこともある。今年二〇〇八年は日仏修交一五〇周年だとか言われているが、一八六八年の第二回パリ万博に送られた、第四回将軍使節団徳川昭武や、その一行の渋沢栄一なども最初このホテルに泊まっていたという、由緒あるホテルである。中に当時のままの大円形サロンがあって、よくファッションショーなども開かれる。豪華な金ピカの帝政様式は大時代で、デラックスな高級衣装に、よく映えるからだ。</text>
