Cette deuxième édition contient en fait 105 illustrations, dont chacune est commentée par une note que j’ai rédigée à l’attention des collectionneurs du Paris d’AKAGI. Certains m’ont dit que ce recueil pouvait constituer un très bon guide sur Paris, mais mon idée n’est pas du tout de faire un guide ! Je conçois ce recueil davantage comme les mémoires d’un Japonais à Paris en 2014, retracées sous forme de 100 vues de la capitale. La traduction peut être en anglais ou en français, mais je souhaite que l’original en japonais figure en dessous.&lt;/p&gt;</text>

                <text>This book contains my special selection of 100 views of Paris in lithography. The selection was made by myself from my completed works and may therefore be regarded as my specially edited private collection. I have almost 500 original drawings of Paris after my 40 years of work. The 100 prints I selected for this book were taken from over 100 prints of those 500 drawings. I did not print them especially for this book like Hiroshige’s “100 famous views of Edo” or Hokusai’s “100 famous views of Mount Fuji” so the title of this book may not be appropriate perhaps. This book is rather like a series of notes stating why I printed these particular views. I hope this book will be appreciated by those who collect my work.</text>

              <text>C’est un café situé au sud du 15e arrondissement,&#13;
à la sortie du métro Convention, sur la place d’un quartier populaire tout près du Parc des Expositions de la porte de Versailles. Ouvert entre la fin du 19e et le début du 20e siècle, juste avant la Première Guerre mondiale, ce café à l’ambiance typique d’un bar populaire parisien, s’emplit aux heures de pointe. Il est au rez-de-chaussée d’un immeuble de ce quartier commerçant. On peut y manger des crêpes et des sandwiches à la pause déjeuner et, lorsque l’hiver arrive, on y sert des plateaux d’huîtres. Contrairement à ceux du centre de Paris, beaucoup de petits commerces de ce quartier ont survécu : réparateurs d’électroménager, bazars ou épiceries. Cela m’inspire de la nostalgie et me rappelle l’époque des petits commerces de proximité qui, encore aujourd’hui, sont toujours pratiques. Deux fois par semaine, la rue est animée par un marché. De l’autre côté de la place, la salle de cinéma fait aussi partie des lieux en voie de disparition et tente tant bien que mal de se maintenir.</text>

              <text>This café stands in front of the subway exit in a market square of a workers’ area close to the Paris expo Porte de Versailles in the south of the 15th arrondissement of Paris. During rush hour time it is crowded and there is a shopping area around it, which is nothing peculiar, but it is a café of the type commonly found in Paris with an apartment building upstairs. We can have meals, raw oysters are served in winter, crêpes are baked and sandwiches are sold to office workers for lunch. This is the essence of the working people’s districts of Paris which were developed either in the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century, before World War I.Many privately owned stores such as household goods repair shops and convenience stores still exist here as they are being put out of business in the central area because rents have become so high. I feel nostalgic to see them and they are convenient. Markets with pitched tents are open at least twice a week, attracting many people. Though the cinema across the square is the one from the shrinking recreation district, they are still in business somehow.</text>

              <text>パリ十五区南部、ポルト・ベルサイユ国際見本市会場に近い庶民街の広場、地下鉄出口の前に立つカッフェ。通勤時間には人々が溢れ、周りには商店街が集まり、何ということないが、とにかくパリに普通に見られるカッフェと、上はアパートの住宅ビルである。食事も出来て、冬は生牡蠣を出し、クレープも焼き、サラリーマンの昼にサンドイッチも売る。十九世紀の終わりか、二〇世紀の始め、第一次世界大戦の前の頃に開けて行った、パリ庶民住宅街の香りである。　家賃のアップで、中心部では成り立たなくなった、家庭用品の修理店とか雑貨の日常品の店、消えてゆく個人商店が、この辺りにはまだ沢山残っていて、こんな商売もあったなーと懐かしく便利だし、週に二回はテント張りの市場も道路に出来て、人々で賑わう。広場の向かいに立っている映画館も、数少なくなった盛り場産業だが、とにかく何とかまだ続いている。</text>
