Cette deuxième édition contient en fait 105 illustrations, dont chacune est commentée par une note que j’ai rédigée à l’attention des collectionneurs du Paris d’AKAGI. Certains m’ont dit que ce recueil pouvait constituer un très bon guide sur Paris, mais mon idée n’est pas du tout de faire un guide ! Je conçois ce recueil davantage comme les mémoires d’un Japonais à Paris en 2014, retracées sous forme de 100 vues de la capitale. La traduction peut être en anglais ou en français, mais je souhaite que l’original en japonais figure en dessous.</p> This book contains my special selection of 100 views of Paris in lithography. The selection was made by myself from my completed works and may therefore be regarded as my specially edited private collection. I have almost 500 original drawings of Paris after my 40 years of work. The 100 prints I selected for this book were taken from over 100 prints of those 500 drawings. I did not print them especially for this book like Hiroshige’s “100 famous views of Edo” or Hokusai’s “100 famous views of Mount Fuji” so the title of this book may not be appropriate perhaps. This book is rather like a series of notes stating why I printed these particular views. Lorsque l’on vend un appartement, le fait de dire qu’il a une vue sur la tour Eiffel permet d’augmenter le prix de vente. Mais si un autre bâtiment vient à être construit juste devant, alors on ne peut plus la voir. L’édifice à gauche de l’illustration est inoubliable pour ceux qui sont venus étudier à Paris à partir des années 90, car c’est dans ce bureau que l’on délivrait la carte de séjour aux étudiants étrangers. En France, l’année scolaire commence à partir d’octobre, après les grandes vacances, ce qui est différent du Japon. Le matin de la rentrée, sous un froid hivernal, une queue s’allongeait sur le trottoir, car les étudiants devaient attendre à l’extérieur. A proximité, il y a une annexe du siège de l’UNESCO où était longtemps installé le bureau de la délégation permanente du Japon auprès de l’UNESCO. In time new buildings obscure the view.The building in the left is unforgettable for those who spent their student life in Paris from the 1990s because residence permits for all the foreign students living in Paris were handled by this office. The new school year starts in October after vacation, so it is different from Japan. On the morning of the new semester in cold winter a long queue forms on this pavement and they are kept waiting outside for a long time.There is an annex building of UNESCO near here and the office of the Japanese delegation to UNESCO was here for a long time.
