Cette deuxième édition contient en fait 105 illustrations, dont chacune est commentée par une note que j’ai rédigée à l’attention des collectionneurs du Paris d’AKAGI. Certains m’ont dit que ce recueil pouvait constituer un très bon guide sur Paris, mais mon idée n’est pas du tout de faire un guide ! Je conçois ce recueil davantage comme les mémoires d’un Japonais à Paris en 2014, retracées sous forme de 100 vues de la capitale. La traduction peut être en anglais ou en français, mais je souhaite que l’original en japonais figure en dessous.</p> This book contains my special selection of 100 views of Paris in lithography. The selection was made by myself from my completed works and may therefore be regarded as my specially edited private collection. I have almost 500 original drawings of Paris after my 40 years of work. The 100 prints I selected for this book were taken from over 100 prints of those 500 drawings. I did not print them especially for this book like Hiroshige’s “100 famous views of Edo” or Hokusai’s “100 famous views of Mount Fuji” so the title of this book may not be appropriate perhaps. This book is rather like a series of notes stating why I printed these particular views. Title A name given to the resource La fontaine des Quatre Saisons, Rue de Grenelle / Fountain of the Four Seasons / グルネル通りの四季の泉 Subject The topic of the resource Lithographie, Fontaine Description An account of the resource A côté du boulevard Raspail, on tombe sur la rue de Grenelle. Entre les numéros 57 et 59, on voit une grande fontaine dont la taille est disproportionnée par rapport à la rue. Elle fait 11 mètres de haut sur 30 mètres de large. A l’époque de Louis XIV, ce quartier manquait d’eau. A la demande du maire de Paris, cette fontaine communale est réalisée entre 1735 à 1745 par Bouchardon, un des plus grands sculpteurs de l’époque. Derrière la porte du bâtiment portant le numéro 59, a vécu Alfred de Musset, poète, dramaturge et compagnon de Georges Sand de 1824 à 1839. En 1995, au numéro 61, s’installe le musée dédié à Astrid Maillol, sculpteur et peintre de la première moitié du 20e siècle. C’est Dina Vierny, un des modèles de ses fameuses sculptures aux formes généreuses, qui est à l’origine de ce musée privé, grâce à sa collection d’oeuvres de Maillol et d’autres artistes. Aujourd’hui le musée attire de nombreux visiteurs, grâce à ces expositions événementielles. Avant, c’était une poissonnerie, raconte l’actuel directeur du musée, fils de la fondatrice. This fountain can be found in a small alley of Rue Grenelle which is off Boulevard de Raspail between numbers 57 and 59. This enormous fountain is 30 meters long and 11 meters tall, standing in an ungainly manner and cramped in the narrow alley. In the era of Louis XV, the mayor of Paris ordered Bouchardon, the best sculptor of the time, to complete the public fountain from 1735-45 because there was a water shortage in this district. At the back gate of number 59, Alfred de Musset, the novelist and playwright who was a lover of George Sand, lived from 1824-39.At number 61, the art museum of Aristide Maillol, a famous sculptor and painter from the first half of the 20th century, opened in 1995. Dina Vierny, one of a number of buxom models, established a foundation with Maillol’s works which she had personally collected, as well as works by other painters of the time, and opened a private art museum. Today various exhibitions are held there attracting many people.
