Cette deuxième édition contient en fait 105 illustrations, dont chacune est commentée par une note que j’ai rédigée à l’attention des collectionneurs du Paris d’AKAGI. Certains m’ont dit que ce recueil pouvait constituer un très bon guide sur Paris, mais mon idée n’est pas du tout de faire un guide ! Je conçois ce recueil davantage comme les mémoires d’un Japonais à Paris en 2014, retracées sous forme de 100 vues de la capitale. La traduction peut être en anglais ou en français, mais je souhaite que l’original en japonais figure en dessous.</p> This book contains my special selection of 100 views of Paris in lithography. The selection was made by myself from my completed works and may therefore be regarded as my specially edited private collection. I have almost 500 original drawings of Paris after my 40 years of work. The 100 prints I selected for this book were taken from over 100 prints of those 500 drawings. I did not print them especially for this book like Hiroshige’s “100 famous views of Edo” or Hokusai’s “100 famous views of Mount Fuji” so the title of this book may not be appropriate perhaps. This book is rather like a series of notes stating why I printed these particular views. Title A name given to the resource A la rue de Passy / The Rue de Passy / パッシー通りにて Subject The topic of the resource Eau-forte et Aquatinte, Rue Description An account of the resource En sortant de la station de métro aérienne de Bir Hakeim et en se dirigeant vers la rive droite tout en montant, on trouve la rue de Passy. Au début du 20e siècle, des résidences haut de gamme sont construites les unes après les autres, formant un quartier bourgeois qui deviendra le 16e arrondissement. On y voit alignés de magnifiques immeubles en pierre de taille. On peut voir que le style de vie différent à la manière dont les gens sont habillées et aux objets exposés dans les vitrines. Parmi les résidents, on trouve souvent des diplomates et des expatriés de grandes entreprises étrangères. On y trouve aussi l’appartement d’un ancien président de la République : en face de son immeuble il y a un drapeau de la France, juste en dessous d’un panneau publicitaire. Lorsqu’on apprend qu’une personne habite un quartier dont le code postal est 75116, on peut être sûr que cette personne est BCBG (bon chic, bon genre), issue d’une bonne famille. Dans ce même 16e arrondissement, la moitié sud a le code postal 75016 correspondant à l’ancien village de Passy où la population était un peu plus mélangée. Dans le quartier commerçant, tout au début de la rue de Passy, il y a un endroit d’où l’on aperçoit la tour Eiffel. Je me suis installé devant un hôtel du nom d’Hôtel des Trois Tours pour dessiner cette vue. We are returning to the right bank of the Seine on the metro viaduct of Bir-Hakeim. On the slope is the Rue de Passy. Around the beginning of the 20th century, high-class residences were built rapidly and the 16th arrondissement became an exclusive residential area for the bourgeoisie. Magnificent residential apartments made of stone stand there proudly. The residents dress differently, shops carry a selection of upmarket products as quality goods are in demand. High-income expatriate workers of foreign companies and diplomats often live in this arrondissement. In the building in front of the advertisement panel with the hoisted flag is the apartment of a former prime minister.If you find out that someone lives in the area with the 75116 post code you know they are a BCBG (bon chic bon genre, of good stock). The southern half of postal district 75016, though also in the 16th arrondissement, is the old village Passy and is a bit mixed. At the beginning of the shopping street of the Rue de Passy, there is a place where we see partly the Eiffel Tower.
